Nice job on the portraits, George. I like the organic movement you've put into them. Very mucha-esque. Not quite sold on the intro piece yet. It seems kind of empty. You might want to consider something decorative and or floral to spice it up and activate the composition. Also think about the colors you've used in the others and how they can play into the half page.

hey george, these portraits look like they're coming along nice, and i just had a couple things that i wanted to say. i like how you've incorporated the banner into these illustrations. normally they could fall flat if overused too much, but it's successful how you've used the banner to create a frame and a transition to the portrait. Look at your portrait of red buttons (i think) and the intro half page and think about how you could create a stronger link with the banner you've been using for the others.

the idea with the ribbon is very effective, it isolates the portraits as spots, and ties them together with the half page illustration. i think red is a really nice illustration, one of my favorites, but i think it needs that ribbon element somewhere so it doesn't stand so seperated from the others. as for the halfpage, i think the emptiness is nice in a way, because it feels like the surroundings aren't so alive, but there are elements you could add to make it less empty, but still feel empty. dead trees, some dead grass, anything organic would be nice, since it's a landscape. overall you did a really great job.

i really like how your line work makes the drawings seem very fluid and the flat colors anchor them, i think that works very nicely. also, not to be picky, but syd barrett mainly played a black fender esquire, not a stratocaster. it looks like this:
