These still need alot of work, I am not sure how I will be coloring them for the final. I dont feel that the point has been carried out wth these, the coples should look more like couples and i am not sure if they are as "hip" as they should be. The Uniden GMR1588 2CK two way radio is not as apparent as i think it should be and i am trying to think of a way to emphasize it more and make the couple look more like a couple.

You're off to a good start. I think if you put as much work into the backgrounds as you did to the people it would improve it a lot. The background could also be the key to solving the problem of the couples not looking like couples. Some subtle indicators of their relationship in the background would make it clear i think. You're onto something with the top piece, but you need to consider that background. If the backpacks are solar powered you might want to do something with the sun. The bottom one is not so great. I don't think I like that red lightening bolt after all. Try to think of another sollution that doesnt involve breaking the characters up. Find some reference for clothes. Pick up a magazine or something. Think urban hipster/yuppie hybrid. They look pretty highschooly to me.
You're getting braver with the colors though!
