here you go, this is what i'm using for an approach so far. it's a tangled mess of new technology and old movie elements. i think i might do this one in black and white and definately add some more stuff to fill up a better space. Let me know what could make it better...

Hey Kerry, I really like this idea and I think it's progressing towards something really good. I love the way you've shaded the older movie devices, too.

I might think about handling the shading on the newer devices differently than the older stuff. Maybe throw some glossy shine or something on those phone things and the computer. Also, consider that having the Apple logo on there, despite adding realism, immediately connects the article to Apple computers.

maybe if you went with a more wide range of things that play movies you could keep the apple computer. Like maybe if you have a PSP and some different types of cell phones. If you got really specific with a lot of different devices the logo issue would probably go away.

i agree with robbie about adding more devices with logos. that would draw that immediate attention away from the computer logo. and handling the shading differently sounds great too. maybe for an even stronger contrast the older things can be in black and white and the new things in vibrant color. nice work, i think what you're doing with this sort of lumping-objects-together thing is really interesting and fun to look at. great work.

I think you should take out the tickets and the board at the top. Make the cords of the devices at the bottom creeping up the camera more and constricting it. Maybe make the camera into a projector and have the light from the projection being snuffed out by the constricting cords?
