George Livingston

The first is for the Sony DCR 505 and the second is the Votlac solar power backpack (taking place during the northern lights). Finals will be done in painter.

the composition on the video camera piece is really nice i also think their expressions work really well. you can definitely see that their having a conversation that could really happen. the couples are also very adult and seem to appeal to people older than twenty, which is nice.

The idea behind the solar backpack piece is great George. I really like that. I hope you can pull off a convincing view of the Northern Lights (it strikes me as something that would be especially difficult to draw). My only concern comes with the top piece, where I think the woman might be overdressed for tromping through the snow.

I agree that the solar backpack piece is pretty great. But in the video camera piece, I think the setting seems to be way out in the wilderness, while the couple seems more dressed for a stroll in the park.

Good ideas, George! I'm really torn about the wardrobes. I like the unrealistic glamor of the camera piece. Maybe if you added more things that were slightly out of place or unrealistic. Like some foxes, rabbits, birds, or deer? It could move it into a kind of fairy tale atmosphere. That might be great! If you did that to the camera one I'd consider dolling up the backpack one too. The northern lights idea is great. If you decide to go the other way and dress them all down, bundle them up. Hats and scarves and whatnot.
