these are nice drawings, but i think the text is too small in the 7x9. the focus is supposed to be the text, so you should probably make it bigger. the font you used in the spots fits pretty well. oh and, im not sure 'snore' is an onomatopoeia, but im also not sure how to spell it out, heh.
I think you need to gather reference and watch some movies. These seem a little static to me. Als the book one is weird. When do cowboys (or girls) ever stomp with both feet? Good concept. Keep doing sketches.
